iMovie and Loopster Video Editing App: Comparison

If you are looking for video editing app for iPhone or iPad then this post will be pretty useful for you. In this post I will compare ‘iMovie’ and ‘Loopster’ video editing apps.

Compatibility
Both apps are compatible with iPod, iPhone, and iPad devices; but if you are still using 3GS then iMovie is not available for you while Loopster is. Other than that picking the right one for your needs is really hard as if you can get the same app for Free then there is no need to spend five bucks.

Interface

Apple has done a nice work designing iMovie with preview at top center, other options on both sides, and timeline at bottom for iPhone and for the big brother (iPad) preview is at top right, media at top left, timeline is at the same place, and other options at center bar. You can easily add media to timeline and carve them to make videos picture perfect with iMovie.

On the other hand the design of Loopster video editing app is different for iPhone and pretty similar for iPad. Loopster for iPhone provides preview at bottom right, timeline at bottom left, and other options at top bar and that makes it really easy to use. Though the design for iPad resembles to that of iMovie the UI of Loopster is comparatively simple to use.

Features
Both iMovie and Loopster provide you option to splice multiple videos, edit, crop sections, insert background music, add special audio effects, create image slideshow, transition effects, social sharing, and much more.
Loopster has a few advantages; it give your additional features that are not available in iMovie, slowmotion and custom text comments are some of them.

Pricing
The cost of an app is a major factor for choosing one. iMovie over the store costs $4.99 while Loopster is Free till now.
